Privacy Policy for Read with Bear

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Read with Bear is a children's picture-book and creative-activity app made by Aerodyne Inc. We designed it for ages 4 to 8 to be a calm, focused space for reading, drawing, and learning. This page explains how we handle your child's privacy.

The short version

Aerodyne does not collect any personal information from anyone who uses this app, whether children or adults. We do not track usage. We do not use analytics SDKs. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not share data with anyone. Your child's work stays on your device unless a parent turns on iCloud sync in Parent Settings.

What information we collect

Nothing by Aerodyne. Read with Bear has no user accounts, no signup, and no login. The app does not connect to any Aerodyne server. It uses Apple's App Store services to deliver books and process purchases, Apple's iCloud Drive to mirror saved drawings when a parent turns on iCloud sync, Apple's Photos library when a parent saves a drawing or replay, and Apple's system share sheet when a parent chooses to share.

What stays on your device and optional iCloud sync

Read with Bear stores the following using Apple's standard on-device storage. None of this is transmitted to Aerodyne:

Removing the app removes the local copy. iCloud Drive copies are managed by Apple and can be removed from Files or iCloud settings.

Sharing your child's drawings

When your child finishes a drawing in Read with Bear, you (the parent) can choose to share it from your device — for example, to AirDrop it to your computer, save it to your Photos library, print it as a PDF for grandma, or send it to a family member. Every share or Photos-save action is gated behind the parent-only year-of-birth challenge, so a child cannot share or export their own work without an adult present. When you share, the drawing is sent to whichever destination you pick using Apple's standard system share sheet. When you save to Photos, the app requests add-only Photos permission and does not read your existing photo library. Drawings and replays never pass through any Aerodyne server.

Purchases

If you make a purchase, that purchase is processed by Apple's App Store under Apple's own privacy policy. We do not receive any personal information about the purchaser. We only learn that a purchase was made, so the app knows to unlock the corresponding content. All purchase confirmations and customer support for billing are handled by Apple.

Children's privacy

This app is made for children ages 4 to 8. It is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Apple App Store's Kids Category guidelines, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because Aerodyne collects no personal information from anyone, no parental consent is required for Aerodyne data collection. The app does include a parent-only settings area gated behind a year-of-birth challenge, which controls volume, purchases, sharing, Photos export, and lock-to-this-app guidance.

Third-party services

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, social-media-integration, or behavioral-profiling services. The external services Read with Bear interacts with are Apple's App Store, Apple's iCloud Drive when a parent enables drawing sync, Apple's Photos library, and whichever destination a parent chooses from Apple's system share sheet.

Family Sharing

If you purchase Lifetime Access, it is shareable with up to six family members through Apple's Family Sharing feature. Apple manages the Family Sharing relationship; we do not have access to it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how we handle privacy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. For app changes that affect privacy, we will also describe the change in the app's release notes.
